Hey Phil - even if you saw the guy - he's dropped in on me way too many times - PAYBACK!BA
You're hired to do my dirty work!

Jeff McCoy is one heck of a surfer - how many waves have we shared over the years?BA
Top Secret La Jolla Reef Photos - Starring Eric, Scotty, Greg, Matt, Ted Fred, Catfish, Plumb Bob, Chris, Blue Crushed, Sasha and a supporting cast of thousands [I wonder how they even found this place??]BA
I'm tired of everybody asking me how to measure the wave heights - no one wants to admit how scared they are when they battle the huge waves which are thrown against the beaches of La Jolla by the mighty Santa Ana Winds.BA
Thanks to John Snead, we whipped out this handy guide to wave heights.
Since everyone in the known surf world knows Snead [retired basketball star center with the San Diego Clippers] just juxtapose Snead on the wave face and you'll instantly know the wave height.
One Snead is about 10 feet, so the average day at The Shores is about 3 - 4 Sneads in feet!
With such massive waves every day at The Shores, it's no wonder that the Shores locals are by far the bravest and best big wave chargers in So Cal!
We had to go to Wind**Sea in order to find waves small and gentle enough for Snead to pose on the water.
I've been thinking...BA"Oh no, this time BA's brain will surely asplode - The dude's a hundred years old "...there is a Rest Of The Story.
"Just kick back, collect your Social Security checks, and don't spend OUR SS $$ chasing the touristas who tell you they want surfing lessons at Black's!"
"If it didn't work 45 years ago, it ain't gonna work now!"
ROUGH DRAFT OF THE IDEA - NEED YOUR IDEAS AND CONTRIBUTIONS
Spawned by the latest issue of The Surfer's Journal Volume Nineteen Number Two - Thank you Evan Slater, Steve Pezman, Jeff Divine, David Frankel and the rest of the great team at TSJ!
As much as I have been attempting to avoid additional responsibilities, I just gotta follow-thru on this idea:
3 Stories which need more stuff:1. Gordon and Smith, Dana Point 1964 - 1966
2. Black's - Never ending
3. Pacific Beach Surf Shop / Gordon & Smith 1969 - 1976

Whew - 4 hours of surfing low tide Shores - at least the waves are not breaking far from shore - makes the paddle out shorter but a bit more intense [you gotta dodge Boogers, Oarons, Long Board Bozos, Short Board Bozos, all in about 3 feet of water - not much room for error]BA
Broke my newest board -
Thanks Tony, I finally get the right fin set-up and the board breaks - Are you still accepting trades?
GQ, err, JP and Teddy checking out this ---> JoJo, certainly, not this ---> JoJoBA
Is there no end to the government take-aways of our freedoms?
It's a good thing I still have my 1966 Gordon and Smith with the Newport Beach License on it - I'm grandfathered in!
